What's Your Personality Type? | You Are An INTP | The Thinker
You are analytical and logical - and on a quest to learn everything you can. Smart and complex, you always love a new intellectual challenge. Your biggest pet peeve is people who slow you down with trivial chit chat. A quiet maverick, you tend to ignore rules and authority whenever you feel like it.
In love, you are an easy person to fall for. But you're not an easy person to stay in love with. Although you are quite flexible, you often come off as aloof or argumentative.
At work, you are both a logical and creative thinker. You are great at solving problems. You would make an excellent mathematician, programmer, or professor.

Northern Ireland is fucking crazy...
Apparently, a couple of weeks go there was a circus out near Bangor. To advertise it the organisers marched several elephants through the centre of Bangor. About half way along their route they were stopped by the police because someone reported them to the Parades Commission. Really. You can just picture the cops trying to pull over a row of elephants to see their fucking parade papers. Also, as some of you may know the Assembly Minister for the environment, heritage, etc here is Sammy Wilson. Part of his brief as Minister is road tax. Now, the fact that Sammy Wilson has any kind of public office at all is a fair sign of how messed up things are here, but about the same time the cops were trying to pull over a row of elephants they were also busy arresting Sammy Wilson. Why? Because he hadn't payed his road tax. That's right, our Minister responsible for road tax was arrested for not paying his road tax. What next? A Minister for Equality who thinks homosexuality is a disease? Oh, wait... In other news, I was in London a couple of weeks ago for a conference organised by the Communist Party of Britain. Which would be why I wasn't at the last Cornucopia. It was a very good weekend. Last Saturday I had to go to Meath to do fieldwork for my dissertation. It was in no way fun. The whole business was rendered somewhat more difficult that it really needed to be on account of the latest maps of the area being six years out of date. Six years in which massive road works have gone on. I had to go to Bangor West yesterday on some business and managed to get myself totaly lost. I spent the better part of my day either on the train or wandering around wondering where the fuck I was. These were not good times. I had to work last night in the Speakeasy in the Students Union. It was the Union's Halloween night. It was not at all fun. We had far fewer people in the Speakeasy than we usualy would on a Thursday (most folks were in the Mandela) but everyone was mental. We had about a third as many people as usual, but far more tossed out. Apparently some girl got raped in the Mandela. I haven't heard any details, but the cops were everywhere this afternoon. My shift today was canceled on account of it. I saw Quantum of Solace tonight. It's damn good. It and Casino Royal are my two favourite Bond movies. I'm sure there were other things I meant to post about, but I can't remember what they were. Oh well. They probably weren't terribly important. Anyway, I'm off to finish listening to The Pogues box set (which incidently is great). I'm thinking of going to see them in December. Be seeing you. First off...
Last week I went to see both The Dark Knight and The X Files: I Want to Believe. Regarding The Dark Knight, I quite liked it. It's not going to go down in history as one of the greatest movies ever made, it's no Battleship Potemkin or Godfather, but it's good. The cast is good (I'm sure everyone is bored of hearing about how good Heath Ledger's Joker is, so I want bother saying it again), the story flows well and fits together quite nicely, it deals with some interesting ethical questions and it's quite funny in places as well. The one thing that I can't quite seem to figure out, however, is how the new Batman and Superman movies can be so good when DC comics are generally so utterly shite, yet Marvel, which produces generaly rather good comic books, seems totaly incapable of producing a particularly good movie. Before I talk about The X Files: I want to Believe, I should be quite clear that I love The X Files. It was the first T.V. show I really got into and I've been waiting on this movie for six years. That being said, I absolutely loved it. Every second of it. Like The Dark Knight, it's a well made, well acted film which manages to be both profound and funny in equal measure. What I Want to Believe also does is successfully reintroduce characters who have been away for a long time, fill in the missing years and still manage to tell a good story. What this film is not is scary. It's not particularly bloody and it doesn't make you jump. It's not meant to. If that's why you're thinking of going to see it, don't. You won't like it. I Want to Believe is not intended for general horror movie fans, it's not a slasher movie. In fact, there's not really much supernatural to it, except for Billy Connolly's character (incidently, Billy Connolly is brilliant). The film is intended for fans of the show and it certainly doesn't disappoint in those regards. In other news... I still haven't got a new job. This is a serious problem which is only getting worse. I found out today that I have to pay £25 by Wedensday to get onto a practical module I really want to do. As I've said before, it's particularly annoying considering that I have a job to start in September, I just have to make it through until then. The Communist Party's youth section held it's annual congress on Saturday. It was a good day, very busy, but very productive. I was elected as the Northern Area's representitive on the NEC. I may be going to a special advance screening ofHellboy tomorrow. I'm not sure. The new Nine Inch Nails album, The Slip is very good. The new Levellers album is out in a couple of weeks, which I'm really looking forward to. Any way, I think that's about it. Be seeing you. So, update...
I've been in my new house for about two weeks now. It's nice. We've had one or two little problems which we're still in the process of dealing with, but by and large everything's been grand. Until yesterday that is. Work have basicly told me that I'm not getting any more hours ths month. This is a serious problem. I have enough money to survive this month and to pay next months rent, but that's it. I can't afford food or bills for next month and there's no guarantee of me getting sufficient hours next month to properly live off. So I'm now desperately seeking a new job. It's annoying because I have a job in the bars in the Students' Union which I'll be starting in September and it feels like a waste going to all this effort with that in mind. It's also annoying given that I have a huge ammount of work to do for my dissertation over the Summer. I really need to have all my practical work done by the end of September. I also managed to lose my Claddagh ring. The one I've had for like six years. It's really bothering me not having it. Anyway. That's about it. If anyone wants to come up and see my new house just let me know. Be seeing you. Current Mood: stressedCurrent Music: The Cruxshadows: Spiral (Don't Fall) | | Monday, June 23rd, 2008 | | 6:57 pm |

I had a job interview today for floor staff in the Union. It seemed to go fairly well. I'll know in a week to ten days if I got it. Unfortunately there won't be many hours over the summer, which is a problem considering I move into my new place in about five weeks.
I'm off to see Indiana Jones tonight with folks from Queen's. Should be a good evening. Be seeing you. Current Mood: goodCurrent Music: McDermott's 2 Hours Vs the Levellers: World Turned Upsidedown | | Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 | | 7:24 pm |
